Weston Bend State Park
16600 MO-45, Weston, MO 64098
Weston Bend State Park is a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Missouri, just a stone’s throw away from Kansas City. The park offers a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy, from secluded picnic sites to campgrounds and scenic trails that offer breathtaking views of the Missouri River.
One of the most popular activities at the park is hiking and biking on the 3-mile paved trail. This trail takes visitors through the park’s woody terrain, offering a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse themselves in nature.
For those looking to spend the night, the park offers both basic and electric campsites, as well as family campsites for a little extra space. These campsites are fully reservable and can be booked up to 12 months in advance.
Visitors should note that the campground is fully reservable during the on-season and that there is a required two-night minimum stay for weekend reservations. During the off-season (Nov. 1 through April 14), potable water is available from the fresh water fill hydrant at the dump station, and firewood is sold at the campground host site during host hours, including weekends.
In addition, campers should be aware that the park gate closes at 9 p.m. during the on-season and 6 p.m. during the off-season, so they should plan to arrive prior to gate closure time. And, just like any other state park, campers planning to carry in firewood must comply with current firewood advisories. Also, camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period at any one park or historic site.
Weston Bend State Park is a peaceful oasis where visitors can escape the stresses of everyday life and connect with nature. With its beautiful scenery, secluded picnic sites, and campground, it’s the perfect destination for families and nature enthusiasts alike.
