If you’re feeling adventurous, you can hike or bike along the park’s 25 miles of horse trails and 20 miles of biking and hiking trails. These trails will take you through the park’s upland forest, giving you a chance to see the park’s native wildlife.

The park is also a great spot for fishing. Perry Reservoir is known for its excellent channel catfish fishing, and the reservoir covers 11,000 acres with 160 miles of shoreline. If you’re a birdwatcher, you’ll love the park’s 1,000 acres of marshes, which are home to a variety of waterfowl.

Perry State Park was made possible by a lease agreement between the Kansas Parks and Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1968. If you’re planning a visit, please be aware that during Memorial Day weekend, a four-night stay will be required for camping reservations. During the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends, a three-night stay will be required.
