Knob Noster State Park is a nature lover’s paradise, offering a variety of camping options for every type of camper. From basic and electric campsites to family campsites and even two organized group camps, there’s something for everyone at this beautiful state park.

For those looking for a little extra space, the family campsites are the perfect choice. These sites offer a little more room to spread out and enjoy the great outdoors. And for the true wilderness enthusiasts, the park also offers two backpack camps on the McAdoo Trail, allowing you to truly immerse yourself in nature.

But that’s not all – if you’re looking for something even more unique, the park also offers special-use camping areas and trailside camping. These options allow you to experience the park in a whole new way and are perfect for those looking for a truly off-the-beaten-path camping experience.

To make a reservation at Knob Noster State Park, you can now plan your trip up to 12 months in advance, expanding from the previous six-month window. You can make a reservation by visiting the reservation website or by calling toll-free 877-ICampMO (877-422-6766). A printable campground map is also available for reference.

Please note that the campground will be closed from October 1, 2022, through mid-November 2023 due to scheduled upgrades throughout the entire campground. Also, the park does not allow converter devices of any kind that will potentially convert 30 amp to 50 amp. Our sites can only accommodate units that need 30-amp service.

Additionally, the campground is fully reservable during the on-season. Reservable sites may be available on a walk-up registration basis if the site is not reserved. And during the off-season (November through April 14), potable water is available at the frost-free spigot near Campsite 3. Firewood is sold weekdays during office hours. Campers planning to carry in firewood must comply with current firewood advisories. The use of generators is prohibited in the campground, unless approved by the park manager. Special consideration will be given for use of generators relating to customer health and safety. Camping is limited to any 15 days within a 30-consecutive-day period at any one park or historic site.
