Dumping
Dumping, or dumping tanks, refers to the process of emptying the waste tanks of an RV. This is an important part of RV maintenance and should be done carefully and responsibly. There’s a specific order to follow when emptying the tanks: first, you empty the blackwater tank, which holds all the waste from the toilet. Then, you empty the graywater tank, which contains the used water from sinks and showers.
The reason for this sequence is quite practical. The graywater typically contains soap, which can help clean the sewer hose after the blackwater has been emptied. By following this order, the soapy water from the graywater tank helps to rinse out the blackwater remnants in the hose, leaving it relatively clean and minimizing the mess.
