Slide-topper
A slide-topper is a type of awning attached to RVs, specifically designed for the slide-out sections. It’s fixed to the top of the slide-out room and the side of the RV. When you extend the slide-out, the slide-topper also opens, creating a cover over the roof of the slide-out room.
The main purpose of a slide-topper is to protect the slide-out room from debris like leaves, twigs, or snow. This is especially useful to prevent buildup on the roof of the slide room, which can be difficult to clean and potentially cause damage.
The slide-topper operates automatically with the movement of the slide-out. It uses spring tension to unroll and cover the slide-out when it’s extended. When you retract the slide-out room back into the RV, the tension recoils, rolling the slide-topper back into its closed position. This convenient feature ensures that the awning is always in sync with the slide-out room’s movement, offering protection and ease of use.
