Blackwater tank flush
A blackwater tank flush is a feature in RVs that helps clean out the blackwater holding tank, where all the toilet waste is stored. This system has a pipe built into the tank, and you hook it up to a pressurized water source using a hose. When you’re at a dump site, you can use this to flush out the solids from the tank more effectively.
If you’re using this system at a campsite, it’s a smart idea to attach a back-flow preventer to the hose. This little device makes sure that no sewage gets into the clean water system. To keep the tank in good shape, it’s recommended to flush it with water every second time you drain it, under normal use. Also, if the sensors in the tank that tell you how full it is start acting weird, give the tank a good spray to clean them off.
